Keep Calm and Beer Festival On

Have you had your fill of beer festivals yet? Of course not! Throughout the summer and into fall is prime beer festival season. The culmination of this sweet, sweet season is October! It seems like there is a beer festival in your area every weekend this month. With so many beer festivals to partake in and so little time, we wanted to share a few tips.

Hydration: Before, during, and after the festival – water is your friend. Drink water on a 1:1 ratio by having a cup of water for every cup beer. This is a marathon, not a sprint!

Sustenance:  Eating before and during the festival will help to slow down the absorption of alcohol into your system, leaving room for more alcohol! Just avoid the greasiest of food choices available. The mixture of alcohol and grease in your stomach can be a bad combination.

Game Plan: Have you ever been to an amusement park with the type of person that plans your entire schedule of daily fun based on ride popularity, line length, and park location? Be that person, but for beer! Do your research ahead of time and formulate a plan to make the most of your time.

Experience: Try something new! Don’t go to a beer festival to drink the same beer you drink every Thurday night. Meet someone new! Of course, a beer festival is more fun when you go with friends, but branch out while you are there and talk to someone new. Just like every beer has a story, every person has a story. Learn some new stories while you are there.

Exit Strategy: If you are attending with friends, make sure you designate a meet up place and time for if you get separated. Plan your ride home BEFORE the festivities begin.
